Room Tone is the first Luca Rowan EP: six tracks built around a loop and a voice, with synth bass and drum machines arriving only where the arrangements ask for them. The recordings hold on to the small sounds between notes and the feeling of playing at the end of a quiet day.
“Small Hours” and “Borrowed Light” later became part of the trio’s live set. Here, their original versions sit beside “Window Seat”, “Stay Awhile”, “First Light” and the title track, introducing the patient, conversational approach that carries through the later releases.
