About the artist
(01) Biography
Finding a little room in the everyday.
Four short chapters: where the tracks come from, how they sound, the records so far and the nights they are played.
01
Luca Rowan makes records from the moments that are easy to pass by: a conversation at the kitchen table, the last train home, the pause before someone answers. A loop usually comes first. The words follow when they have something to say.
02
Working independently in London, Luca brings together the pull of house music, the warmth of soul and a loose, jazz-influenced feel for rhythm. The records keep a human pace. You can hear the space around a voice and the movement of players listening to one another.
03
The first EP, Room Tone, introduced six tracks built around that idea. Live at the Workshop opened them up with synth bass and drum machines, capturing the same material in a shared room. The latest EP, Hours Between, follows those threads into six new recordings about distance, small routines and the places people return to.
04
In clubs, Luca plays solo from the decks or with a trio. The sets change from night to night, but the centre stays the same: a groove, a story and a room of people giving it their attention.

(03) Live lineup
Three people, one conversation.
The trio keeps the arrangements open, moving between stripped-back, loop-led tracks and fuller, more rhythmic versions of the records.
Solo DJ sets are also available for suitable rooms and sessions.
