Luca Rowan is a London-based DJ and producer blending house, soul and a loose, jazz-influenced feel for rhythm. The music turns everyday details into unhurried tracks, played solo from the decks or with a live trio. The latest EP, Hours Between, brings together six recordings about the quieter moments that connect one day to the next.
Luca Rowan is a DJ and producer based in London. Working independently, Luca makes music that brings the pull of house together with the warmth of soul and a loose, jazz-influenced feel for rhythm.
The tracks begin with everyday details: a late train, a familiar street, a conversation carried home. Rather than filling every space, the recordings leave room for the voice and for musicians responding to one another.
The debut EP, Room Tone, introduced this approach through six loop-led tracks. Live at the Workshop took them into a shared room with synth bass and drum machines, alongside early takes of two songs from Hours Between. The latest release, Hours Between, expands the project into six tracks about small routines, distance and returning.
Luca plays solo DJ sets and performs live with a trio featuring Maya Ellis on synth bass and Theo Vale on drum machines. Live arrangements move between stripped-back versions of the recordings and more open, rhythmic performances shaped by the room.
